Dynamics of Child Abuse: Definitions of child abuse; factors contributing to family violence; discipline vs. abuse; abuse/misuse of power.

Facilitation Skills: Understanding and managing group dynamics; building a co-facilitator relationship.

Legislation: Child, Family and Community Service Act definitions of abuse; child protection; implications for facilitator role; services to families.

Supporting Change in Your Community: Community development approach in involving citizens in defining problems and developing solutions.

Anti-oppressive Practice: Working effectively with parents from diverse ethnic, racial and socio-economic backgrounds.
