PSS Volunteer Facilitator Process

The following is the process for becoming a volunteer:

Review all available positions and choose the one that you are interested in applying for.

  1. Complete the online volunteer application form.
  2. After review of your application the Program Coordinator will invite you for a personal interview at PSS or at a location near you.
  3. After the interview you will be invited to attend the next scheduled Initial Volunteer Facilitator Training session or Child Minder orientation session.  Click here for information on the Initial Facilitator Training Workshop.

Please take note that prior to facilitating a group or undertaking child minding duties, it is a must that you undergo a criminal record check. Every volunteer accepted to become a facilitator will then be matched with another co-facilitator and any existing Parent Support Circle.  Each volunteer accepted to become a volunteer child minding coordinator or assistant will be matched with a new or existing Parent Support Circle.

Volunteer facilitators are the heart of the Parent Support Circle Program. They provide a secure and regular place for parents to express feelings and share the joys and challenges of raising children.  Volunteer child minding coordinators and assistants provide a secure and child-friendly place for the children of these parents to meet other children and to be cared for in a safe, fun and secure environment while their parents and caregivers are attending a Parent Support Circle.

We look forward to working with you in the future. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us at the Parent Support Services office nearest you:
