Daniela Alvarado-Torres

Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator

Daniela started work at PSS as a practicum student and was then hired on as permanent staff in December 2017. Daniela is responsible for overseeing the many diverse Support Circles in the Lower Mainland and connects regularly with Volunteer Facilitators & Childminders. Daniela also provides the initial and ongoing trainings for volunteers, and co-coordinates the PSS Steering Committees. Daniela also works to create new Circles to meet the community needs by making connections with other agencies and organizations. The growing numbers of Parenting Workshops that PSS offers in the Lower Mainland, are also her work.

Very open to learning new ideas and methods of practice; Daniela has worked with a wide range of populations through her practicums and other volunteer work experiences – supervising other students, children, coordinating projects, working with vulnerable adults and children, and working with individuals with mental health and substance use struggles, and homelessness. She is also fluent in Spanish.

Daniela works closely with Bella (Director of Circles and Community Development) and the Circle team.

“I am excited to work here at PSS, and bringing energy and passion to the role of Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator. In my time at PSS I know the real difference our work makes in the lives of the families we work with.”
