Lead Project Manager – Kinship Care Research and Mobilization
Jane started work at PSS in the Fall of 2013 as the Executive Assistant with a focus on communications. Since April 2019, Jane has been managing PSS’s kinship care research and mobilization project.
A former school trustee, and Vice Chair of the Vancouver School Board, Jane is passionate about public education, and has spent her life working for a safer, more welcoming, inclusive and just society for children and youth. She has played a key role in the development and implementation of policy to end harassment based on sexual orientation and gender identity in schools – in Vancouver and across Canada.
Jane co-managed an independent bookstore in Vancouver for almost two decades, and was a volunteer co-host and producer of a current affairs radio program on community radio.
Jane has worked closely with the Executive Director, Carol Madsen, focusing on increasing the profile of PSS, diversifying funding, developing policy and is now devoting the bulk of her time managing PSS’s vital research into the state of kinship care in BC.
“I am so excited to use my organizational and communication skills to support families. PSS really understands the diversity of families. PSS walks the talk – supporting and advocating for those raising children.”
