Meet Parent Support Services Society of BC’s New Executive Director!

Dear friends, colleagues and supporters of Parent Support Services Society of BC,

Please welcome our new Acting Executive Director, Jane Bouey!

Jane started work at PSS in the Fall of 2013 as the Executive Assistant with a focus on communications. Since then, Jane has played a vital role in the organizational growth of PSS over years. Through her natural leadership and interpersonal skills, she has consistently helped the organization raise significant annual funding across a network of campaigns.

In April 2019, Jane began managing PSS’s kinship care research and mobilization project. In her most recent role as the Program Manager – Advocacy and Mobilization, Jane continued working alongside kinship caregivers as they advocated for systemic change. She also oversaw some changes to the Kinship Care Help Line and supported the advocates on the Line as they built collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities and supported families on the Line.

As a former school trustee, and Vice Chair of the Vancouver School Board, Jane is passionate about public education, and has spent her life working for a safer, more welcoming, inclusive and just society for children and youth. She has played a key role in the development and implementation of policy to end harassment based on sexual orientation and gender identity in schools – in Vancouver and across Canada. Jane co-managed an independent bookstore in Vancouver for almost two decades, and was a volunteer co-host and producer of a current affairs radio program on community radio.

Jane is excited about moving the PSS mission forward with her new role. She can be reached at 604-669-1616 or jane.bouey@parentsupportbc.ca.

Welcome, Jane!
