Community Development Worker

Azucena brings over six years of experience supporting families from diverse backgrounds in the non-profit sector. She holds a degree in biology, but it was her personal experiences with motherhood and migration that shaped her professional path—leading her to pursue further certification in community capacity building and early childhood education.

Guided by strong values of social justice and a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), Azucena supports families and volunteers at Parent Support Services of BC. She has been a dedicated volunteer group facilitator since 2021 and began working with the organization as a staff member in November 2024.

Outside of work, Azucena enjoys music, nature and community events.
